Whining Rossi Goes To Court Of Arbitration For Sport (cas) And Appeals..........

  1. how do you brake harder when normal braking is on the absolute limit of adhesion? Pray tell, I will use this technique to win a motogp race.

    I've been involved in motor racing all my life.

    Marquez deserved to be run wide to be honest, was riding like a c*nt. But they've honestly both been as bad as each other.

    I think they should either drop rossi's point or give them both points.

    Nakamoto insists there was nothing unusual in the way Marquez was racing Rossi, compares it to Rossi's battle with Lorenzo at Motegi 2010, claims the result of a 'kick' from Rossi can be seen on Marquez's data and is disappointed Rossi was not punished during the race...

    “The lap times they were doing were quite fast, clearly showing that there was no intention from Marc to slow down Valentino. In addition, after Marc crashed and Valentino had an open track in front of him, his lap times were no faster then during the battle with Marc. We believe, they were both pushing to the maximum. Both wanted third place and to try and catch up with Dani and Jorge, but of course this battle opened up a gap to the front two. This is racing and when you have two talents such as Marc and Valentino you can see a wonderful battle as we saw.”

    “It is clear that Valentino intentionally pushed Marc towards the outside of the track, which is out of the rules, therefore Marc had no other option other than to run wide. The data from Marc's bike shows that even though he was picking up the bike trying to avoid contact with Valentino, his front brake lever suddenly received an impact that locked the front tyre, which is the reason for his crash. We believe that this pressure was a result of Rossi's kick. The data acquisition from Marc's bike is available if anybody from Dorna, the FIM or media want to check.”

  6. Of course Nakamoto will support MM. Talent and riding skill notwithstanding, MM's attitude to MotoGP and racing is just horseshit. His immaturity and lack of sporting character (JL included) has been shown up through this sordid series of events. MotoGP and all the fans are poorer because of this.

  13. Yep, their skewed view on the world flies in the face of all the facts. Some of the stuff I have seen on here in the last week would make Lord Haw Haw blush with embarrassment if he had said it.

I was under the impression that modern racing bikes always have a brake lever protector, meaning a stiff metal guard attached to the end of the handlebar protruding forward and curved in front of the brake lever. If Marquez's Honda had such a protector, as it presumably must have done, then it is not obvious how Rossi could possibly have hit Marquez's brake lever with his leg so as to apply the brake even if he was trying to.
     
  15. They are not the most substantial things in the world, I think designed to stop anything coming in from the side / front catching the tip of the lever. The fairing should deflect anything from the inside.

    There is an obvious gap there where something could get through, which looks to have happened in the Marquez / Rossi incident. Probably a 1 in a 1000 chance.

  16. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know there is no rule of racing that a rider must go as fast as he can. Any rider can slow down at any time for any reason. So if Marquez chooses to slow enough to drop back from the race leading group until he is in third or fourth place, he is perfectly entitled to. Likewise if Rossi chooses to take a particular corner more slowly than he usually does, he is perfectly entitled to do just that.

    Again as far as I know there is no rule about the line a rider takes around a corner. Any rider can take as wide a line as they wish at any time for any reason. So either Rossi or Marquez are perfectly entitled to take a particular corner more widely than they usually do, if they so choose.

    I cannot understand how any rider can be criticised, let alone punished, for going more slowly than usual or taking a wider line than usual in a corner.

    I agree with you, assuming you are not just being mischievous, there is a world of difference between running some one wide, which is what Rossi did, and forcing someone off the track, which he didn't do, although in close racing riders are often forced off the track without any penalty being applied. Gaining an advantage, within the rules, is at the heart of racing.

    I wonder whether the data also shows MM opening the throttle and turning right as he head buts VR's knee ?
     
  18. They can't be penalised for the things you say hence why MM was not penalised. VR was penalised for instigating the contact by his actions of running wide, had they not made contact, provided he didn't force MM off the track he would have got no penalty.

    Whether you condone slowing up deliberately or not depends on what sort of racing you want to see. For me it's undesirable even at a team orders level and more so when it's for a grudge and there is nothing at stake for the one doing the balking. Only MM knows for sure if that was his intention in this case. If he was I think the fact JL benefits is incidental, as long as VR doesn't.

    If anyone remembers Tardozzi got the sack for refusing to make Lanzi slow up for Haga to be WSB champ and look at Baz in WSB so even team orders are not universally followed as racers mostly feel you do just that. Race

    So it isn't what you do, but the outcome, which is dependent upon the actions of others, that is the decider ?
     
  20. Non of the before broke any rules, it might not be in the spirit of racing but that has no legislation attached to it. Yet !
