Well I want a Shoei. So I have just searched eBay and they don't have the model I want. It's the NXR Brigand so it looks like if I can't find it cheaper at show it will be £480 at the shop counter as no one appears to be doing this cheaper
ET PHONE HOME lol Bunch of tossers January this year I went there to buy new gear leathers lid boots and gloves. The only thing they didn't have in my size was the one piece leather but said no probs they could order and have it in a week. A week later I phoned them but no leathers said they would find out and ring me later that day. A week goes by and no phone call so I ring again and got same answer they would find out. Another week later still no leathers or phone call this time the excuse was the uk distribution centre apparently they got stock wrong and would have to order from manufacturer. In the mean time I spoke to another shop who said they could get them for me and believe it or not they had them next day and from same uk distributor so me thinks helmet city was feeding me a load of bollox and I will never go there again.
I found them to be super helpful when I ordered a new helmet and later ordered some parts for an old helmet. You can please some of the people some of the time.................
Well I didnt It wasn't as if I was only spending £50 new boots £300 lid £450, gloves £100 and leathers £600. The only good thing was they said come and pay for it all in one go when you pick up leathers. Oh and they wouldn't even give me a reduced price. I went else where and got £200 knocked off
Went today, the last time I went you could still smoke in the halls. Totally bored, took loads of cash came home with it all. The best parts for me were meeting people i used to work with in the trade, the classic race bikes, the Herald chinese bike range and the odd classic. Modern bikes pah, no real deals on kit and every one stocks the same. Had to queue for an hour to get into the car park, won't be back for a long time.
Went yesterday (Friday morning). Car park in was fine, only took a few minutes but exiting took a bit longer. £10 is far too much to pay though. Show was great; not crowded and all of the manufacturers had put some great displays on. There seemed to be fewer other stands but that's probably because they can't afford the ridiculous prices that the NEC charge and TBH if you're disappointed with the prices of the accessories, clothing, etc. you should probably blame the NEC first. The Yamaha R1M was amazing to see but the star of the show was definitely the Kawasaki H2R on the dyno. Really liked the 1299 Ducati and there was loads of fantastic race bikes to see. Really appreciated seeing more attention paid to showing the engines and fairings off a few of the race bikes plus the Ducati cut-away engine was really interesting as it showed the belts, etc. in motion. Glad I went despite other people's opinions but it was probably much more impressive for me becuase I haven't been to a bike show in years to be fair.
Forme a helet, gloves, boots, any kit actually, has to be tried on. So the showis agreat place to do that, the. You can check online while youre there and if its chepaer try and haggle
Mate bought a Remus can at 'the lowest price in the uk' at the show for his street triple r got home checked online found it £20 cheaper they have refunded the difference but leaves a bit of a bad taste
