I am 17.1 stone and 179cm so sucks on that front. Good thing is still fit in to 3y old leathers.

    Andy review coming?

  4. 10.5 is good - you must be young!!!!

  5. I was 50 this year. One of the young guys on my team ran to level 12 then twenty mins later level 13 just for the hell of it !

Basic AFO is 9.4 specialist 10.5

  6. Used to be really quite overweight during my final year at uni, as I comfort ate and didn't have the time to do exercise (12 hour days doing uni work meant I was too tired). Took up running and swimming, and joined a Sunday league football team. Aerobic exercise using 60% or more of your maximum heart rate really burns the blubber - so get a heart rate monitor.

Also, look at the nutrition information on your food - and cut out anything with more than 10% saturated fat.

  7. 5'8 was 150 or so kilos, 2 years of 2k kcals a day on average, very little beer but no real abstinence either, gym min 4 times a week aiming to burn 600-1000 cals a time, down to 102 kilos and running 35kms a week plus 3 weight sessions plus some swimming and interval cycling. In other words; less junk food, loads of exercise and winning a few trophies racing as drive to keep doing it

Currently about 112 but havent been able to fully excercise for over a year with one thing or another, but actually pretty happy an enforced sedentary lifestyle hasnt resulted in it all back on

Slow and steady wins that race :upyeah:

  8. But cardio actually isnt that great for losing weights as such, add muscle and you burn calories standing still. Unless you have loads to lose like I did

  9. Its been a year since i did or rather needed to do the 10.5.............

  10. Hmm well in 2007 i'd gotten up to 21 stone due too a couple of bike accidents and a car accident in the previous years, than after some personal issues went down to 9 stone 12 in six months. GP nearly shit a brick when i lost 22 Lbs in two weeks, though everyone i know said i looked f**king ill being that light. Went up to 10 stone 4Lbs as an average. After all the crap i went through i've been lucky that i've been able to keep most of the weight off.

Though i do need to get back into a swimming pool again to lose the few pounds i've put on after breaking two ribs recently

  12. This will be my last year.
Had some good times but not enjoying it as much as I did. Must be an age thing.

  13. I was 95kg while I was racing but then I bought a bicycle and started riding. The weight started coming off slowly, and I just consciously ate less and drank less alcohol - no real plan at that stage but I lost a bit of weight. Since the end of last year though I've been cycling a lot more and also went and saw a nutritionist for some advice on structuring my meals and snacks around my exercise and work routine and I got down to 81kg. i was pretty fit when I left the Army at the age of 23 and I was 83kgs then! Over winter my cycling dropped off and I drank a lot of beer so it's gone back up and I'm around the 85kg mark at the moment.

I'm doing a 250km cycle in 5 weeks and training 7 times a week for it (5 on the bike for around 300k a week, plus I ride 12k each working day anyway because I ride to work, and 2 yoga/pilates) and with going back to my eating plan and cutting out booze I'll be back to 81kg by the ride.

The weird thing is, when I'm cycling a lot and eating right I feel like I'm constantly eating! A normal day I'll eat something along the lines of an ommellette wrap with a coffee, a handful of nuts, chicken/tuna/protein and salad wrap, a piece of fruit, a piece of fish or meat and a veg stir fry for dinner. I'll drink maybe 3L of water and either a green or white tea during the day and a chamomile tea or similar at night. On days when I'm doing a longer ride before work (over 40k) I'll have a protein shake before I leave and take some food/gels with me. I like to cook so I make my own protein snacks and get gels cheap from Wiggle etc.

  14. My vices, that I find hard to control, are beer (I LOVE beer), I have a sweet tooth and I love food generally. So it takes a little discipline to stick to the above but I find the discipline is easier to find when you're cycling a lot, especially with a goal in mind.

  15. Guys can you speak in English?

Also should this thread not be moved in to mans corner where only male part of forum has access? It ruins the chances with ladies on here as it stands.

If you can't kill it or pick it don't eat it was the advice!

  17. Every year Police firearms officers have to pass a fitness test and health assessment.
The required level for non specialist authorised firearms officers is 9.4 on the national 15m beep test.
Specialist firearms officers ( intervention teams etc ) have to run to level 10.5
Anyone can download the test if they fancy a go at it. Just google police fitness test.

  18. Hehe I just might.

  19. So what no medium rare steak, no real pizza, no chicken curry or ham and cheese sandwich?
