Anything that’ll help me break the 2 minute marker. I’ve just started a new fitness regime, my fitness is always holding me back so if I can get on top of that then I might have a chance
Turn 2 and 6 are tricky. Get a good exit from those and you’ll be doing ok. Also the last corner on the finish straight. Get good drive out there and onto the kerb. Kerbs are key it seems.... In fact I even thought they could remove a lot of the tarmac and plant taties or something. No one goes there
Sub two minutes should be fairly easy on a 1000. The back section after Pedrosas is pretty critical. Get that flowing and you’ll be laughing. if you’re going with PaceDayz the PaceDayz Jerez trips are usually monster fast so you’ll get a good tow. The only corners I’d say could potentially be dangerous are 5 and 7. You could have a monster spill on either of those. If you’re not running race shift, it’s definitely worthwhile at Jerez. Especially coming out of 2/3
@carson I don’t agree with this. Not for your first time anyhow. It’s not really a power track like Brno where you can lay down for long. It’s fairly technical. You need to join the dots. Don’t fight it.
what are you on about haha? it’s got two fucking massive straights ! It’s known as a 1000 circuit. joining the dots I do agree with however I’ve also seen the guy ride. He’ll do a sub 2 minute or very close in my opinion. I did a sub 2 min on my first ever time on a virtually totally stock 600
Where are they?? 4th, maybe 5th gear straights. But that’s not massive. Also, wsbk lap quicker round there than the 300hp MotoGP scalpels.... hmmm.... Fairly certain your a significantly quicker rider than me. Dipping under 2 minutes took me a day. My next visit I’ll aim for 1.55. One things for certain though, you won’t be having more fun than me
Not true. motogp race record is 1:39. In practice and quali they’ve been down to 1:37. Wsbk record was when the rules were more relaxed and that was Sykes mid to late 1:41. The bike were around 230-240 or so bhp. The back straight out of T5 is monster quick and what gear you’re in depends on what gearing you run. It is over 150 gps on a 600. The front straight is 160/170 on a 1000 road bike with a decent rider. The straights may not be the longest but the sheer acceleration of the 1000’s mean they are at their top speed much before say a 600 etc. i agree that it’s a track you have to dot together. But it’s not exactly a 600 track. I suspect I’d be more like 1:49-1:52 now on the 6
Following thread with interest. Just booked on PaceDayz late Feb trip to Jerez as a Novice. First Trackday overseas......
Been thinking about it for ages, read this thread and decided to crack on with it, plus the positive feedback about Pacedayz helped make the decision easier
Well... we went to Jerez last weekend on the promise of sunshine and it bloody rained. a lot I took wets though, so they made it open pitlane Back again in January, so hopefully it'll be dry then
