Just noticed your West Sussex Loz. London commute is it? I'm East S myself and was in London on the multi today.
No, mate, I head West along the coast towards Portsmouth. West on the A27 (yawn) to get to work and the route back home is cross-country for variety's sake. Under 45miles round trip, every day. It's fun if I travel later in the day after the worst of the rush hour but work commitments tend to bugger all that up.
Was down at Portsmouth docks on the multi with the missus when I came down badly with pneumonia. Dodgiest ride home ever and just missed that plane crash. Could have landed on my and I wouldn't have known. Was on a hospital bed shortly after and still don't quite know how I kept it upright all the way home
I've been known to be practically dying from an asthma attack, get on my bike, be fine until I get to my destination, and then started dying from asthma again. Something about the bike is a natural medicament
I did worry about my two boys, who live/commute in the Shoreham area. They were indirectly affected by that tragedy but not in direct danger. Awful thing.
Good point. Riding a bike seems to be an antidote to asthma, and travel sickness - among other things.
Still using my gixxer moto gp rep and loving it , also just booked on to a free taster session with the northampton advanced motorcyclist this sunday .Love riding it very addictive , it's doused in acf50 and is filthy but i don't get the arse with the weather anymore like i used to , just get out and ride and enjoy thats what its all about . everytime
Just seen the forecast (for Manchester next week) , anybody aiming to continue commuting on their Ducati next week? @burndownthediscos ?
On the zed today - took supermoto yesterday - next week ill get the rsv4 out (its not seen the light of day for the last 4 months or so - got a full akra race system for it yesterday so I cant...not as it were...however now my supermoto is finished I must say im getting itchy feet for another hypermotard...
over 200 miles done today cold but loved it , and oh yes think i have fell in love with a BMW GSA aswell i know it's not a ducati but comfy , big , and lot's of presence on the road and didn't feel the need to race around at 100mph .
Commute going well with the muffs fitted on the Multi and still havent hit the heated grips on yet with summer gloves.....but noticed tonight that when sleet builds up on the front of the bike the heat from the LED's seems to keep them clear but the main beam does bugger all to heat through it and as such is rendered useless Also noticed the amount of steam off the radiator freaked me out as I have been used to an air cooled GS for the last 6 years so sudden flurries of steam on stopping was a WTF!!! moment Probably just as well I was going slower than normal as the visor was snow covered every 45-60 seconds
Got the dentist up the road at 8.30 which means I'll be in there for an hour so it may have warmed up a little by then.... In which case supermoto it is...
Just waiting for some dry weather. The cold doesn't bother me, or salt as long as its dry (snow foam gun, hose pipe, dryer :Cigar. Its the slimy black filth that gets in everywhere and never comes out again.
hoping to get out on mine later let the sun burn the frost off, cold weather is not an issue , just me
We've got the worst of both worlds here at the moment. Water levels are very high and the springs are up so there's running water on the road in a lot of places with mud either side of it and its freezing in the mornings. Didn't really thaw all day yesterday in the shade. There's a Southwestbikers run on Sunday I wouldn't mind going on but floods, ice and mud is a bit much.
