1200 DVT Who's Still Riding In December/january In The Uk

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Trickyricky, Dec 13, 2015.

  1. lovely ride this morning into work, weather dry but v. chilly, cool responsive engine temps on empty clear roads.

  2. Made it although my supermoto was misfiring all the way to work... Looks like a job for the weekend...

  3. I really need to give my KTM a run. Its due an oil change and being dry sump its needs a proper run. Warming it up on the stand won't do. Wanted to ride up to Bristol tomorrow to try on a new Dainese suit but the only road out of the village was white this morning. Air still too damp. Need about a week of sun.

  4. Suspect electrical... Plug, cap or ht...

  5. Decided to take the hire bike to work this morning.
All my noble thoughts of keeping it away from the salt/grit vanished when I considered taking the car to work. I'm so weak :)

  6. I ride mine all year round , though the DVT heated grips are not very good in comparison to the older models , Ducati Manchester agreed and changed for a new set that were just as bad
no everything that's new is better :(

  7. I found that with the s1oooR heated grips... Nowhere near hot enough... The Oxford ones burn your hands! Brilliant.

  8. I'm hopefully going to get the multi out on Sunday.

  9. yes, I still ride with my summer gloves all year round, my 2010 model scorches the fingers on max setting.

    • Agree Agree x 1
  10. I've always hated winter gloves. No feeling of throttle movements, like riding with boxing gloves on.

    • Agree Agree x 2
  11. Sorted the problem out. The solution was me being a twat .... Didn't tighten one of the adjusters up on the chain side so the wheel shifted forward, enough to make the chain jump... Feel free to hurl abuse.

  12. Brave man to tell the truth. Most would have blamed it on some real tricky made-up electrical problem like a blown fuse on the B.L.T circuit

  13. Yep.... Pretty honest I am... I don't claim to be any master mechanic! School boy error...

  16. Sunny dry but cold is the forecast for the weekend here so I will be out for sure...:upyeah:
I keep my bikes on the road all year but I select my days out conditions dependant :)..the summer is not long enough to get my biking fix..

  17. I'll be out for a quick test tomorrow (re my wheel shifting problem) otherwise I'll probably spend the day outside washing the car and bikes... I can put up with the cold just to be outside.!

  18. managed 50 miles today as research for why my Multi isn't running right .....found out its only in Sport Mode and Touring is fine (see separate thread) ....... finally gave in and switched on heated grips and fitted winter liners to my Rukkas for the first time despite commuting every day on the bike...the bar muffs i managed to fit even though not designed for the bike do a superb job so still wearing Alpinestars SP2 summer gloves

  19. No heated grips :(. But if I get out tomorrow I'll find out if my silk liners work..

  20. There is a guy here rides every day think it's a Suzuki will check a big chunky bike
He has a flip up helmet and yesterday as usual it was open :Wideyed: The roads were white with frost
I watched him gingerly go around the roundabout
He must be made of steel
