Why Don't We All Have Bike Tracs

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by ymfb, May 9, 2014.

  1. I wouldn't bother with a tracker as others have said once gone I wouldn't want it back as probably fooked liked my old KTM LC4.

They did me a favour though as when I got money from insurance I went out and purchased a KTM 625 Super comp instead.Much more fun and never looked back.

Funny thing was it was taken local and cops didn't find it.I went round and had a word with several scumbags I know and low and behold I got a call and it was found the next day.By the way I didn't have a word I let a bat do all the talking.

  3. I think it's biketrac that has the ' next of kin ' option where it texts a designated person if your bike leans at more than 80 degrees with the ignition on ie. when you bin it!. Not sure I like the sound of this. Even if I was in pieces somewhere the last thing I would want was my missus getting a random text from a computer somewhere informing her. All she'd do is jump in the car all distraught and panic stricken, not thinking straight and drive like a lunatic risking life and limb to herself and everyone else on the road to get to me. I'd rather it be done the old fashioned way when the police turn up at the door. :(

  4. You can configure any of the options, invisible fence, txt alerts, call centre calls they will do what ever you ask, also up to you if you trigger the stolen alarm, i.e confirm it's stolen and they then track it for you and the police, you get much more than you think for the yearly subscription! If you do trigger it as stolen I think you loose the online tracking for reasons of preventing extreme violence towards those who have it! You can view bread crumb trails and much more too with the bike trac, if you want a chance at seeing your bike or unique parts again you don't have many other options, bike trac uses several options to trac and they claim they have a number of methods they will not release to also track it, VHF, Mobile UHF triangulation etc etc

When I fit them I put it into the heart of the motorcycle, even if you had the tools it would take you so e time to get to it in order to deactivate or remove it.
