  10. You misunderstand me. Of course I want fun. But in order to get that fun I also want reliability, the ability to travel thousands of miles with a passenger and luggage without constant fettling and mind-bending performance coupled with sure-footed confidence-inspiring handling at high speeds. In short a lot. I use my Ducati so much - though never for commuting - that when I took it to Snell's to trade it in they complained that 13,000 miles in little more than a year made it a high-mileage machine because, quote: "Most Ducati owners only do a couple of thousand miles a year". This is a stance borne out by a cursory glance at eBay and classified ads. I saw an immaculate 2008 Monster recently with 8,000 miles on the clock. None of my bikes has ever been used so little.
