Winter - its frustrating

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Dubs, Jan 16, 2014.

  1. Probably ELTEL, I have had my snow socks in the car for the past 2 months. I think if it were bad weather and snowing I would not be as frustrated for a ride out!

  2. A bucket load of rain all weekend...thats that then

  3. 6 weeks till 1st trackday 12 weeks till Portimao.........I can't wait :)

  4. My bike is already polished down to the white plastic. Oh wait its a white bike.

I'll be happy when I can go into my garage without risking exposure.

  5. Trackbike still needs painting and putting back together and want to be on track by end Feb...Multi still getting used regardless, although prefer the cold, cant stand the wet

  6. Good way to pass the time...

  7. Hyper polished. Rsv4 polished. Full tank in both. Pissing down.....

  8. last year down here was a good biking year.. put serious miles on both my multi and zzr ..zzr scared me last month spinning up on damp roads cold tyres no traction control ..so waiting for the sun to come ...its bloody miserable i need my fix !!

  9. Thats the problem with the winter, under 4 degrees you can't get any heat in to the tyres especially if you are just popping out for a bacon sarnie.

  10. run the 1098 down to the mates garage on fri nite and feck me but it was slippy.....no fun at all.

  11. Today looks promising, roads are wet at the moment but the forecast is good so might be able to get out for an hour later if it drys out a bit.

  12. I might go and fire up the Blackbird.

  13. I ride everyday, but I haven't had a dry ride this year! Either it's raining or the road is wet from the last time it rained. I had one day of ice so far.. which isn't bad at all.

  14. Looks to be dry all day in Bristol today....problem is, with family ill probably never get out. The double edged sword for me owning 2 bits of Italian exotica is that if use them too much ill get overrun by running costs.....rsv4 will be needing another rear supercorsa in the next 1000 miles....trying to make it last a month before the TT starts so ive got a fresh one for then.

Plus ive just finished (and I mean this) 20 years of renovating the 2 houses I/we have owned, renovated one and then moved to the present one to renovate. We tried to do 1 - 2 rooms per year and also ended up renovating my inlaws house across the road as well which has one room left to do...with a full time job requiring overtime, I haven't had much time for anything really for as long as I can remember.

It almost feels a little weird not doing anything on the weekends (lounged around the house yesterday) as im usually pulling a ceiling down or hacking walls off - that kind of thing.

  15. I can sympathise its a huge balancing act, my scam today is hopefully to pop out and pick up some Hunter Wellies I've won on eBay for my lad, little trip out to Woodstock should blow off the cobwebs.

  16. I'm looking forward to my boarding holiday :upyeah:

  17. Crap weathers giving me time to insulate, board and put radiators into garage for winter tinkering times, otherwise I'd be out on bikes/s and it would never get done.

  18. I should be in the shed sorting out the Guzzi, but I just can't be arsed.

  19. Get an off road bike and go play in the mud. Never have winter blues again.

  20. I used to have a Husky SMR510 for the winter. Great fun but sold it to buy the 1198 amongst other stuff sold. This is my first winter without a hack. Its true about dirt bikes. I had a KTM before that and a DRZ I don't want to talk about (boring).

Now just 916 and 1198. Neither of them see shitty weather on purpose. Although both have when needs must and weather happens.
