Thanks, It's like a glue, it attracts all the crap and it's not easy to remove. I wanted to keep the bike clean, and leaving it to stink until summer seems a shame. I will search the SDOC100 stuff you mentioned.
I simply wash mine a few times, then reapply during the winter. After one ride it looks a shed, after 8 I clean.
I am happy with the acf, not cheap, so the only disadvantage I can see, is that you apply and don't clean off. I suppose under all the muck, there is a clean bike not rusting.
My own experience. I applied it to a brand new bike from fay one. First sign of winter, corroded like shit and offerred no protectection at all. Had to be reapplied after every ride. And still its shit. Wouldnt even use it on my pants to keep the skids off...its that shit Imo
Ive used a ducati through many winters and its been fine.Ive used sdoc cleaner and cold water to wash any salt off and covered it in WD40 regularly or GT85. The above have done a very good job from my experience with them.
I've used FS365 0n my ZZR1400 since new (4yrs old now) and it still looks like new. Yes you do need to apply it after every wash but its so easy...just spray it on after you've dried the bike...job done, I only apply it to metal tho' not the fairings
Ill sing the praises of sdoc100 - I use it round the oily and lower parts of the bike, engine, brake calipers, rear wheel sprocket area etc etc....in fact I will say that I was washing it last month and the rear termi pipe was getting a bit discoloured right on the alloy covers at the back....I put it on neat on there on one and left the other just to prove the point and the difference was incredible. Really good stuff and its heading for another going over this weekend.
