Winter/spring Project 1977 Rd200dx

  1. New sand blasting gun with feeding tube was a great buy, rolling chassis, the wheels will be coming back off for bearing/seals once they've arrived..

  2. Started to do a little painting and feel like I've perfected my blasting a little.

  3. Time to tackle the carbs. Was going to get a sonic cleaner but first will try with carb cleaner and air line with some time and elbow grease. One done one to go! And you can just make out where is says choke

  4. Purchased a crusty old original master cylinder a little sand blasting and a fresh coat of paint new seals and spring should be good to go..

  5. Good to get an original, that’s Similar to one that was on kh250 I had,
    Keep an eye out for fluid weeping through the plastic, I had this,

  6. Some good progress today cylinder heads attached and torqued up. Then engine back in the frame..it’s all coming together nicely

  7. I’m on my iPhone so can’t zoom in very well are they repro indicators or original,
    At this rate you will be out riding later this year.

  8. They are repro,got originals but there in pretty poor condition.
     
  9. That’s what made me ask as they looked to good for originals had the same issue with a kh250

  11. When been really busy on the build even though it looks like I haven’t done much wiring loom in had a few issues with the 20amp fuse blowing so needs investigating further carbs back on top..

  15. Back to the resto, new tyres tubes, fuel lines,air filter and front mudguard, also purchased a bench grinder and some air tools. Still got issues with the electrics which isn’t my forte,

Some old school bling, picked up my re-chromed down pipes from vernon moss (Brighouse) they where very heavily pitted and had been painted black, I’m very happy with the results and will look great with my higgspeed exhausts. Would highly recommend them if your looking at getting anything chromed

Well all electrics now seem to be sorted, started with some more cosmetics re spray the rear mudguard Yamaha orange chain guard gloss black, had to alter side stand as the arm used to operate it was too short with the aftermarket higgspeed expansion chambers on,had to remember how to weld again.under seat to spray! Then try a small shake down ride!
