  1. Would this not have been nicer to have informed Rob first then posted up a how to undo once sorted

After the link to the other forum and this thread it looks like your touting for new members Imola ;-)

  2. Rob,As I already stated in my post I've stopped the auto renewal but only because I like to be in control of when/where/what I pay for. I will certainly be making a donation again.

  3. Still waiting for refund!

  4. I'll prod Rob for you

  5. There was a much less confrontational way you could have sorted this issue out without resorting to this thread. Not sure what you are trying to achieve but maybe Ducbird is onto it.

  11. I can be found on many others including
851 888 forum and desmo corse.
This ones had its day if you like reading about ducati ownership.

  12. Horses for courses. There's only so much can be said about Ducati ownership.

    It's great :upyeah:

    There......I've said it

  13. I hear where Imola is coming from.....

And agree in a lot of respects, it seams that there's was a point when people's 'banter' was kinda curbed with complaints about posting off topic, but now 80% of the forum is off topic.

I like to relax, have a bit of craic and talk bikes (Not only Ducati, but that's why we're here). Helping and being helped by members is what makes these places work.

Who would have signed up to a forum to read about about the mundane emails someone sent to clients at the other side of the world today or whatyoucookedfortea.co.uk??

But it's not Rob or Matts fault, the forum doesn't exist without the members and their posts, so this one is down to us.... :-(

And to be fair to Imola there's a lot of threads and posts on here that are way way off any kind of biking interest of which I share with Imola.

I for one hope he still posts here, as his posts in the sport and technical threads will be a great loss to the biking integrity of this forum.

So come on Letstalkbikes.com....and keep the likes of Imola present on the forum.

Oh and today I done loads of boring things in my boring job.....if that's what floats your boat ;-)

  14. I kind of know where you're coming from but I have to say just talking bikes is boring as fuck. To me anyway.

Those that like to talk about the minutae of bikes on here seem to me that they hardly ever ride them. Just my observation and opinion of course.

  16. My neighbour who bought an 848 Evo would agree with you and Imola.

He told me last weekend he'll be happy doing 150 miles a year on it. Seriously......why bother??

Oh and he can bore you to tears about wingle wangle bolts and suchlike too.

  17. Cause he can.....

But does he send international emails to prospective clients at the other side of the world every day?

I don't see the point in owning a bike and knowing fuck all about it either...but that's just me.

  18. If I have a problem with anything then "I know a man that can". My spare time is too valuable to me to fuck about so I pay someone else to fuck about on my behalf.

I appreciate your pov. But I don't necessarily agree with it. And I assume you appreciate my pov too.

If we were all the same and liked the same things it'd be a very very boring place.

  19. Oh yes....I agree there ;-)

There's two main category's of bikers....enthusiasts that have grew up modifying, maintaining and tinkering with them and enjoy that part of the ownership.

..... Then there's the rich midlife crisis owners hanging onto their youth ;-)

  20. Anth, Anth, Anth.............you really should not make assumptions. Maybe I buck the preconceived and incorrect perception that you have of the biking community and of me.

I had a bike between the ages of 16 and 25 and I learnt to keep my bikes on the road because I used them for commuting and pleasure. I then came back to biking at 32 years of age, and still kept my hand in, doing such jobs like taking old engines out and putting new engines in, putting full exhaust systems in etc etc.

I've now been biking (my 2nd stint) continuously for 22 years. And up till about 5-6 years ago I used to ride most weekends through the winter too. Only snow would stop me.

Then came a point when I felt I could afford to get someone else to do things for me.

Hardly mid-life crisis. And hardly rich, but I do consider myself to be comfortable.
