Well I have to say that I was surprised that the spacers go ON TOP of the callipers! I thought that they would have just used a bolt of the correct length.
Iirc the 1098 has spacers doesn’t it? But I get your point? Why have it that end and not the other….unless its because larger discs are an option so you can move the spacers and still fit??
Amazed. Thought they all had the same hub as 1299 or what’s the point: it’s just added cost to produce two swingarms.
?? Swing arm and hub is the same. It’s identical apart from 5.5 and 6 inch wheel. The v2 has a 180/60 section tyre.
My take on it would be that it’s always been one of the distinguishing features of the middleweight Panigale’s . In the old days middleweight bikes were always sold on the premise that although they had less power - they were lighter and more nimble. Time moved on and the top end Superbikes became just as light as the ‘smaller’ bikes, and in many cases lighter due to premium lightweight components. Less power through the rear wheel means they can get away with a smaller contact patch and thus keep the 180/60 tyre profile to give that ‘middleweight’ nimble characteristic. Otherwise it’s just the cheaper, lower powered version of the same bike. Obviously with the advent of the V4 the V2 no longer shares the same platform as it’s larger capacity sibling but they have retained that ‘quicker to turn’ characteristic.
