  3. Ok, bit of an update. It’s more thumbs than wrists now, similar to arthritis, so I had a chat with a physio friend. He knew what it probably was, so grabbed my arm, and it was agony. Apparently I’ve pulled all the muscles in my forearms, and they need a fair bit of work to release.

So, looking at what I can do to the bike to avoid this being an ongoing issue, what do you guys recommend I do? Rotate the bars back, or forward? Consider bar risers? As mentioned, I’ve never had this on any of the 30 odd bikes I’ve had over the years, so am on a mission to resolve the issue.

  4. Try moving your bars around first to see if you can solve it that way, make sure you can still go lock to lock though without interference from switchgear etc. I tried my bars in various positions but in the end went for a lower rise bar with a bit more pull back to them on my Mt. it’s different from person to person so it will be just a case of trial and error I think.

  5. That’s my initial plan. Would rotating them back be better do you think?

  6. I’d start with rotating them back towards you yes. I found the closer the bars were to me the better it got on my wrists

  8. I have an 1100 Evo, a mate has an Evo 1100 SP - the SP comes with bar risers as standard whereas the standard model does not have them. I have ridden both and you def feel like you're sitting more upright/leant back with the SP set-up so less wrist loading.
