You’re right and I’m sure it’s going to get very boring very quickly but I was just overjoyed to be watching some racing again.
the Supersport race was great, really really great! Proving that when they get the equivalence rules right, all the bikes are in the hunt, nothing to choose between all of them really.
Wow just seen it. Sensational and you can tell the quality in the field has gone up a notch or two this year with the addition of the moto 2 boys. As much as I hate to agree with toselands incessant gushing Jaume looked epic on that v2. Was kind of like how moto2 wishes it was.
agreed, and honestly I think the R9 will be a really interesting bike to look at this year, if indeed it is priced at £12,500 it’s going to be a great road bike
Hmmm... am I correct in thinking that the new sporty R9 is only knocking out about 117bhp? Cripes, an old Triumph Daytona 675 puts out 125bhp... Am I missing something about the new triple?
it is, a sad fact of Euro 5 (the Daytona was only Euro 3 at best) but it has gobs more torque and midrange than the Daytona did. I’ve not ridden one but I think it is supposed to feel more like a Grunty Daytona without possibly those last few thousand revs.
Somewhere in the drivel from JT and that other f**kwit, the decision not to allow BMW to mount their engine in the 2025 bike in the same way as the 2024 bike which was developed under the concession scheme, was made by the FIM. Holding Toprak back has been discussed at length in the run up to the season and IMO, if you are going to change the rules to penalise one dominant rider, you should be consistent and Toprak’s dominance last year made it a certainty some penalty would come their way. Depending on the outcome of Portugal at the end of March, performance limiting penalties will be handed out by reducing the fuel flow rate. As the Ducati seems to be performing pretty equally across the teams (except Lowes who continued his average performance), they will be a prime candidate to be penalised under the new rules. Sadly there is nothing you can do to improve a team if the rider just isn’t delivering on their package. Pechetti (sorry, Kawasaki WSBK Team) and Petronas MIE spring to mind. Andy
