That is for the RACING wire harness without provision for light, horn etc. I had in contact with BSD in the past, and they can create a customized harness for street use, however if possible, I would like to find an original Ducati factory wire harness for now.
I have a brand new original harness from my 996R but not selling as I’m going to restore it hopefully within the next couple of years. I can take photos and measurements for you though next time I’m home, if that helps…
Howard, you might just have to accept that there aren't any left, at least not at a price you are willing to pay. You would be better off having your original duplicated to the same spec. Plenty of reputable companies could do that for you and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference, aside from the fact it wouldn't come with a Ducati part number, which once fitted is irrelevant.
Many 998 parts that were no longer in production, many times show up again for sale somewhere. For example, I found a brand new 998 radiator in Japan, an almost brand new Motocorse 60.5mm full titanium exhaust in UK (through this forum), and many more parts. Just this past 2 days, by posting on forums, I found 2 people (including bettes above) who owned a brand new 996R/998 harness just not ready to sell at this moment (not because price). I don't have a time limit in finding this harness, I just have to wait for the right moment. Hello @bettes , I understand that at this moment, you are not going to sell your brand new 996R harness, but if somehow your plan change in the future, please reach out to me by sending me a private messages, before you sell it to someone else. Because I am doing a restomod, and I want to use as much brand new parts as possible. The only parts I reused (but refinish) on my build are the main frame, and the rear subframe (maybe there are some small bracket here and there that I reused and refinish with Cerakote but that's about it). The rest are all brand new parts. The only major part that I still cannot find as brand new part is... this wiring harness. In fact, I already have 2 sets of the 998 main wiring harness. One that originally came with this 998 when I bought it, and another set that I purchase ex 998R from Germany. Both are in great condition... however, they are still not brand new.
Have you been posting on FB in all of the Ducati groups? I personally loathed using any sort of social media until 2 years ago when I started using FB only for finding rare Ducati items and I use a fake profile to keep my privacy. I'm glad that I did because not only did I find my 2nd 996R that way (a month after making my account), but I've found several rare items I would not have otherwise since. I would bet money several people are hoarding an NOS main and tail harness they would be willing to let go for the right price.

Sourcing any part these days, howsoever rare, is nothing more than a combination of patience as well as commitment to consistent and capable (re)search.
Finally, after more than 3 years of looking for a Ducati 998 Original OEM Genuine Factory wiring harness in BRAND-NEW condition, I found one last BRAND-NEW set in Germany. This also means I finally finished buying every part for my 998 project that I want to replace with a BRAND-NEW part. The Phrase Where there is a will, there's a way is still True I now have 3 sets of Ducati 998 wiring harnesses, one set came from my 998, one set I bought used but in great condition from a 998R owner in Germany, and this latest BRAND-NEW set is also from Germany. My plan is to sell the set ex 998R soon. Below are the pictures (the first 2 pictures are for the BRAND-NEW set), and the last picture is for the used set ex 998R. The tag affixed on the new loom suggests that it may very likely not be a Lapunta loom (which is the correct loom producer for Ducati's of that era, including all models of the 998 era), but a nonetheless much modern yet well made reproduction that will deliver equally as good. Good to know that your search is over and you may now finish that monumental 998SFE project
