  1. When you start trading Exige, do you plan to run a rough tally of orders by product on your web page? I mean something like "Over 200 happy customers for our belts/gaskets/coils" etc.? split by product type? not sure if you would want to do that, but it will certainly be interesting to learn about your figures - especially for the belts - in a year from now?...

  2. best of luck dude.....service with a smile lol.

  3. My web site isn't that complicated! My target is to have no unhappy customers of course and I will do my best to make this happen. It is difficult to know levels of stock but that will soon work itself out - just hope not to run dry in the early days - other than the 1098 belts which are on back order. Eventually I will have a good safety stock in place.
In future I will probably run an e-commerce web site but early days at the moment!
    Thanks for the ideas. :)

  4. :D

  5. Plus one on the cable sets. They are expensive already but personal importing makes them even more so.
I know people confident in their electrickery can use Halfords etc or make up their own but for the rest of us, these are ideal.

  6. Will you also be selling frame kits for old knackered kawasakis?

  7. Superb prices, I'm sure it will do well :)

  12. Good luck @Exige - I've just had the 999 serviced but next time round will certainly consider sourcing some belts from you. Might even fit them myself if I'm feeling brave...!

  13. How do dealers in the UK generally respond to you bringing in your own belts for the service?

  14. I've done it, so it can't be that hard to do...

It's fairly involved but perfectly doable with a little patience and a methodical approach. I found the trickiest bit was getting a reliable reading for the tension, using a guitar tuning app.
The problem with guitar tuning apps is that they tend to be looking for a sustained note, which a cam belt definitely doesn't provide. However the availability of the Gates Carbon app, which is actually designed to look for a frequency from a belt, not a guitar string, should solve that problem.

  19. You can always double check with the Allen Key method to double check your reading - make sure there is no frequency from strip lights or other devices that may give false readings :)

  20. I would imagine main dealers would try and put you off, for obvious reasons - but some main dealers in the USA use ExactFit belts! Specialists shouldn't have a problem, especially if they read all the positive feedback on-line, they have been in production several years now and have a fantastic following in the USA.
You could always get a quote and ask how much the belts are after getting the full quote - then say you will provide your own to ensure you get the full saving. ;)
