You shouldn't do, but I do remember reading on another forum that the good old EU is trying to make it illegal to retro- fit HiD conversions. Not sure, but his might have already come into effect in some countries. The only difficulty I can see is that you have a considerably brighter lamp in a reflector that wasn't designed for it. Still on my list of things to do though. Matt
There was some talk about self leveling or something last year? Easy enough to swap back to OEM pre MOT.
Cool. I ordered a set last night and reasoned that if I failed with them in, I would simply return to OEM or do that beforehand. The lights on the Supersport is pitiful.
Went for the ones that Anth posted. Made sense really, it's designed and engineered in the uk, so that should count for something. Ordered straight from the Hawks Alarm site and got a dispatch note at 1am this morning. (wtf?) Should arrive tomorrow, will maybe fit them tomorrow as I'll be doing some night riding....errr?
Ok, got round to installing the HID kit tonight after the kit came on Tuesday. It is plug and play but took me an hour to get the stock bulb out! Anyway, I am very pleased with the result. Tested it at night, so although the pattern is scattered, the low beam so much better than stock, very bright and visible. The high beam is also better too, tried it out in my poorly lit car park and it illuminated the area pretty well. The ballast was slightly bigger than I expected but I hid it in the fairing. After a 20 min ride the ballast wasn't even warm but I think that's because I placed it where moving air could get to it. Overall, I'm very pleased. Will defo be seen more.
