Read the link material and went raging around the room. Calmed down a bit by reading my fellow forum members comments. First half was "well ain't I a successful smart arse with the best job in the best performing bike company". Did anyone really ask those questions!!! Yes...some of us like the new bikes... Great. Yes....they've looked at the modifications we've made and copied them on to later bikes without acknowledging them as customer developed. The 2010 to 2014 rear brake of a MTS1200 was not and is not suitable for purpose. The fastenings used on Ducati to 2014 have a poor finish and are unable to resist UK weather. OEM chains have rust on the side plates once exposed to water. If the FSA say you can't sell extended warranties...don't look to get round it...just give a better warranty as standard..... I could go on for hours. I love Ducati motorcycles..and I'll buy another (I still have one now). This is a premium product...start to build the quality back in again.
Didn't answer my question about coatings - all the other answers were easy to answer and not tough....so no, I wont be shelling out 13- 15k on a new ducati anything. I thought my question warranted some sort of answer even if it was "yeah, we're shit at that but we take your comments on board" - to even acknowledge the problem as it affects bikes across the whole range....
Nice for him to take the time to appear on here, but to be honest, all very broad stroke corporate answers and a bit of a wasted opportunity. A shame really.
I think, perhaps he shouldn't have bothered. The quality of answers given may just lead to more frustration than no answers at all. It was a good idea, but without real commitment I fear it was a fail.
What answers ? YES - we will be offering better finance rates in the new year, along with improved PCP YES - extended warranties will be also be re introduce, second quarter 2016 NO - our quality control will always be second rate YES - we do take our customers for granted simple questions deserve simple answers......
Not even a sniff of an answer to my question about the chances of an aircooled desmo single scrambler in the future. I'm taking the silence as a positive sign.
