Zx9r owner thinking about an 848

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Spoonaltap, Jul 1, 2013.

  1. Must admit one of the reasons I'm wanting one is because they are just so beautiful and sexy. Want something that people will take a second look at and be jealous.

Yeah I know but what I'm wanting is very specific, evo stealth with low milage. As young as possible, full service history, immaculate condition and have a full exhaust system on it. If that means I have to save for six months then I'll just have to wait. I'm thinking for next summer anyway as this year has been shit.

  2. Ok well good luck then, as its sounds like you're looking for an 8k plus bike for webuyyourbike.com money

  3. Look up at the fifth post mate, I've said budget will be 7.5k which by the time autumn rolls around I'm hoping will mean a drop of price. If I need to wait a bit longer to let me save more then I will, the most I've ever spent on a vehicle was 2 thousand and it came with problems. I'd love to buy a new car or bike so I know other people and their bodges can't of touched it but alas I don't have that luxury so I'm settling for a good as new bike if that makes any sense? So it's got to be perfect, I don't want to sell my nine but I can always use it as a p/x if need be.

  4. I'm afraid I don't think you'll get "perfect" for £7.5k. You'll get "good" but not "perfect".

You need to manage your expectations I think.

  5. If that's the case then I'll just have to wait till I've got more money, I wasn't going to start looking till I had 7.5 cos I've always got my credit card if something amazing came up but if I'm looking at more like 8 then I'll just wait till then. I'm not in a rush, I was hoping to get one to ride this year as there are plenty of good older ones for between 5.5-7k. Well they looked ok, but I'd rather wait. I can put £200-300 away each month if I cut my spending down.

Sorry for sounding like such a twit, I saw the 848 fell in love and although I want one I'm trying to be sensible. I could have borrowed enough to get one straight away but I'm a 27 year old man child and I need to get more important things sorted in my life so it's my gift to myself if I do those things.

  6. If its for next year, and you don't mind the wait, then it could be worth waiting till winter, or early spring next year as the dealers ship less units, and there's a better chance of haggling a deal...

  7. Yeah that's what I think I'll be doing, have upped my budget to 8k so it depends how long it takes to save up another 2k but will also be considering good condition non evo 848s.

  8. You'll get a nice standard evo for that money come the cold months

  9. Dont think lad, just go for it,you will not be disappointed one bit,i just bought a multi, and im thinking off another one, looks like the gsxr is for the chop, gonna have to sort my dress sense out now too,ffs
