Yep, it's fooked. As above, 2nd hand engine would be the way I'd go.. Not wishing to diss your bike, but "uneconomical repair" does spring to mind.
Yes agree with you, I'm now emailing a bloke in Boston about engine, similar mileage and age, also found two ZXR 750L that are very reasonable price wise, might end up buying another one and the engine.
I no, i hate throwing stuff away I do like to fix/repair if I can. The world has become a throw away place
When the shed becomes overcrowded the next best place to rebuild engine is the kitchen. You wouldn't believe there are two Ducati's three Kawasaki's and my special in there. Need some dry weather so I can extend the shed (brick built) now there's a bad weather warning for my area
You seem to be a man of many projects but none finished. Focus on one, clear out the shite by selling and fund the one you really want to build. Would agree that unless you know the right type of welder then it's looking for an engine for the casings and then at that stage it is uneconomic. I understand saving something is part of the fun for some but sometimes it's like monika lewinsky's dress, that stain is never going to come out so let it go.
There no shit in there, and don't need to sell anything, have other case's so no welding needed. Shed not normally like that will be different tomorrow, the bin will have its breathing space again
Correct, left two an half years ago, just me and my two daughter's from this relationship. she just got back from backpacking round India for three month's, as she put it, to find herself, she will never find herself in the bottom of bottle. Enough of that crap, been to B&Q today bought some shelving, had a tidy up and look what I found tucked away under a dust sheet. A Duke . Now the bin & I can move around freely again
I only mentioned that because I've been there. Was man sharing a 2 bed place with another biker and we had 4 bikes in the lounge designed in such a way that we had clear vision to the tv but bikes between the two man chair recliners. It was bliss, a bike under the stair gap too and often the buddy had bits in the dishwasher getting a deep clean
