I had a extended test ride on zzr1400. Scared me shitless as within minutes I knew I will be just silly with it like all the time.
I'd chop my C1 in for a new 1400 but a, I'd fear for my licence (even more than on mine), b, I'm happy doing all the maintence on mine knowing the warranty ended just when I got my licence!!, and c, mines paid for and owes me nowt. Maybe a test ride would be in order though. Do we EVER grow out of wanting biggest best fastest most??
Most just grow 'out' as they age, rather than 'up'. Its not pretty but I'd love to have a go on a ZZR14. My 2nd big bike experience was on a ZZR11. Ridden by a mate with me on the back. 140-150 on the M25 scared the shit outta me, the wind unzipped my ma1 and i was clinging on for dear life. Ive never been a passenger on a bike since. I was used to scoots.
trying to use it ..for everyday commuting in this winter ..isnt working out the new model has traction control ..mine a 10 plate doesn't .i pulled out of work last week damp roads chilly weather cold tyres had to stop at the lights right outside of work pulled away right turn apply power ..........shitttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt span up nearly high sided me off ....managed to stay up ..again chucked in garage left it this beast is a animal ..any one want it £5,500 !
For the reasons I mentioned earlier (to save time rereading - mainly money!) I can't justify a new zzr1400. Still bloody want one though!
I bought a new 13 plate one about 4 months ago with full Akro,filter,Pc111,dyno setup,Q/Shifter and she is a pussycat to ride. Its obviously very fast and long and low and has vibs which is annoying but can forgive. The thing about owning a ZZR is that feeling of completely knowing that on the road you can't out corner most sports bikes but just power past them everywhere else which pisses lots of riding gods off.Trust me,the more the most.oh yes.
I have found this you tube vid of just how quickly they can pick their skirts up and go.Have a look at the post 100 MPH acceleration.Just insane for a road bike.
Makes the multi look very tame, that's crazy, but it's too much for the road,I know which I would prefer to have as I test rode a K1000SX before the multi, fast smooth and .....boring.
There realy quite complient and easy to ride on the road but with that little edge incase you need it.You are all right ofcourse, far too much if you use it to its full effect but I am planning to 1/4 mile mine this year.9's all day me thinks.
Totally bonkers acceleration, must say the Kawasaki was the more stable in the corners. The gentle oscillation through the bars on the Suzuki would unnerve me.
just had test ride on multi 1200 s nice but feels rough compared to the linear smooth uber powerfull zzr i have. but i need a more sit up comfy bike now i'm over 50 ......but everything i've tried since having a zzr just seems slow and inadequate ..just sitting on the Z you know the power under you and it bites at you conscience ,,and you want to ride it so fast it nags away at me i feel frustrated at times, that in the uk you cant unleash the beast ..... zzr 1400 abs 10 plate for sale 25750 miles 1 previous owner FSH great condition £5399 ovno
sold the z goodbye wow what a machine accelerates so fast my brain couldn't process the information as the horizon comes towards you so fast ...now what shall i get ?
I own a 2010 zzr1400 I bought it for the sole purpose of using it for touring, but still have that semi sports bike look, the bike is class so smooth that you dont know the speed you are doing. Two up with side luggage & a top box as well as a large tank bag its class far too fast though. So you need to keep a close eye on your speedo. Tank range not bad bike is really compy I am 6" 1 plenty of room on board. Give one ago people will be surprized.
