That will depend on the weather. Warm and wet - most definitely, but cold and windy probably not. I've never let a few (million) midgies spoil my fun
As mines been in the dealers for 2 weeks having new pulleys and belts I haven't been putting the miles on it. (plus i've been away) Goes in for it's 30k Desmo service mid September so should hit the 30,000 mile mark by then. I will also be picking up my pulleys and belts and will find someone to independantly inspect them to see why the surfaces crazed on the pulleys which then damaged the belts!! Pics will be posted next week.
......post here please Biot ;-) 1200 - Accidental Timing Belt "guide Pulley" Damage | Page 3 | Ducati Forum
Will do AndyW. Not back home yet, but pick bike and damaged pulleys up on Saturday; late. So will get photo's done next week. Then i'll contact Ducati.
My mileage now at 28670 miles. Not as high as I thought by this time of year. Pesky work gets in the way! :Banghead:
31---nearly 32K....I love my MUTLEY.... I let my brother rider my 998S... While waiting on the road outside, guarding both bikes I was leaning on the MTS1200S. A passer by (a suited man in his 50's) said " that bike is stupendous"... I looked up and replied "thank you". To which he replied "not yours; that one"...... I just said "thank you".... again with a smile. NOTE: The MTS1200 is not a pretty bike.
I've still got my "its a one off, never heard of it before, out of warranty, hand over your cash" set of damaged pullies.
Same here ACT. Still peed off about the whole thing and may post to Italy with a long constructive letter
Sadly my (was Graham Smith) 2010 54000 miler has been traded in following a near terminal diagnosis. For the last couple of thousand miles I could hear a strange whine/rumble mostly on the overrun in the lower gears. Took the bike to my local Ducati specialist who diagnosed main bearing failure and a £2K repair cost (£1200 labour / £800 parts). He looked up its history on the computer and it had had major internal work already done in its past - pistons / heads etc. which I wasn't aware of. With that kind of history the bike suddenly felt like a money pit. So, very quickly decided to trade in rather than repair. Now very happy with a 2011 10K miler.
This weekend my 2013 Multi Touring S clocked over to 28,000 miles add that to the 32,000 on the 2010 model I had and so far we have 50,000 miles on Multistrada's. The 2013 has been superb only 2 minor issues that meant I could carry on and get them fixed at a later stage. Never let me down (but neither did the 2010 model - it always got me home). Still the best bike out there for I want a bike to do and the 2015 is on order
Ha! I'm still ahead with the 2013 at 30950. I'm very self-conscious. Brett at Pro Twins has given up... ps. Veetwin: Its 60k in total for you. I did about 24k on my 2010 and had a year's head start!
Hi Guys, Quick update - I'm up to just over 36K miles 3rd chain set and still lovin' it! I'm part of the throttle cable recall so I haven't been riding as much as I like - I want to take care of that before too long. The weather here on the West Coast of the US has turned really cold lately. Usually we're getting nice and warm, but this May has been the coldest I can remember. Planning a long trip again this summer. I'll leave updates. Cheers!
